For Gold & Glory!
Calling all slopestyle enthusiasts to the brand new QParks Tour stop! Gold & Glory, hosted by the Golden Roofpark in Axamer Lizum, Austria, is the seventh stop on this season’s QParks tour. This weekend, the 40 competitors can expect a slick contest setup and up to 2,400€ in prize money (for us South Africans, that’s R33 262,32) – epic, no?
Axamer Lizum – Tiny Town: Huge History
Axamer Lizum is a small town southwest of Innsbruck, Tirol. It hosted both the 1964 and 1976 Winter Olympics. The history of the 1964 Winter Olympics is fascinating. It was the first Winter Olympics to record times in hundreds, rather than tenths, of a second. Further, given the mild weather that year, snow had to be trucked in and was packed down by the Austrian army.
