Informative skiing with TomSki
On the 19th October, Gone Skiing was the venue for a Ski Information Evening hosted by boutique ski tour operator TomSki run by father and son duo Tom and Brent Pinky. All TomSki tours are accompanied by TomSki’s own qualified, bilingual instructors who has over a decade experience in ski instructing and guiding and who were also present at the information evening to meet the skiing group and answer any questions.
TomSki knows that well informed clients ends up being the happiest clients and holds these meetings in Johannesburg and Durban for those folk joining their forthcoming tours. On this occasion the focus was on the TomSki tour to Kaprun (Austria) departing on the 27th December. The presentation was attended by some 40 keen skiers, including personnel from Gone Skiing and TomSki, who made good use of the opportunity to browse through the shop and exchange views and experiences.
The evening included a short presentation which, in addition to information on the resort, covered issues such as visa applications and requirements, travel insurance, the layout of Munich airport arrivals hall, accommodation in Kaprun, and ski technique. The presentation was followed by a Q&A session and later everyone exchange ski stories and enjoyed some drinks and snacks.
Having seen the presentation myself and after spending some time on the slopes with the Pinkey's, I am considering joining their next ski trip myself.
