On the 19th October, Gone Skiing was the venue for a Ski Information Evening hosted by boutique ski tour operator TomSki run by father and son duo Tom and Brent Pinky. All TomSki tours are accompanied by TomSki’s own qualified, bilingual instructors who has over a decade experience in ski instructing and guiding and who were also present at the information evening to meet the skiing group and answer any questions.

Mawa took a leap of faith, paid her own way and teamed up with the Slovenian freestyle snowboard team under the watchful eye of coach Iztok Sumatic. Iztok is a multi talented snowboarder and is both a FIS Slopestyle judge, coach as well as member of the FIS Snowboarding committee.

Mawa, the Slovenian freestyle team and Iztok spent the season training and competing in various FIS Europa Cup, Slopestyle & Big Air Events.

2010 is the year for big events and its no different for us here at Gone Skiing. Last year we opened our second store at Afriski in the Maluti mountains and now we are proud to announce that we are also the Johannesburg booking office for the resort.

Neverland is a state of mind, a mountain pushed up from the ground by imagination. Anyone can go but most people have trouble with the simple directions: Follow your dreams. This winter Absinthe dropped down the rabbit hole to explore this elusive place and brought back some mind bending tales and a pocketful of surprises.
